The 31st European Film Awards took place in Seville, Spain last night, with the European Film Academy bestowing its top honour, Best European Film, on Cold War, with its writer-director Pawel Pawlikowski scooping Best Director and Best Screenwriter and Joanna Kulig named Best Actress.
Cold War missed out on a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globes, but is expected to receive a nod when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announce the nominations for the 91st Academy Awards.
