With a new director now on board in The Help’s Tate Taylor, Voltage Pictures and Freckle Films are pushing ahead with casting on the Jessica Chastain-headlined action thriller Eve, with Colin Farrell and Common joining the actress in the cast.
Eve sees Chastain in the title role, playing an assassin. Farrell will play the head of a black ops organisation whom Eve works for, while Common will portray her ex-fiance.
Chastain is producing Eve through her Freckle Films banner, with Matthew Newton having penned the script. Newton was previously attached to direct, but stepped down after a backlash due to his history of domestic violence and assault.
Farrell will next be seen in Steve McQueen’s new film Widows, and has Tim Burton’s live-action Disney adaptation Dumbo arriving next year. Common meanwhile has a number of projects incoming before the year’s end, including the animated feature Smallfoot, action thriller Hunter Killer and crime drama The Hate U Give.
