Colin Farrell has become the latest addition to the cast of Toff Guys, director Guy Ritchie’s upcoming return to Lock, Stock and Two Smokin’ Barrels and Snatch territory, while Michelle Dockery (Downtown Abbey) has been cast as a replacement for the previously announced Kate Beckinsale (Underworld: Blood Wars).
Scripted by Ritchie, Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson, Toff Guys will explore the collision between old money European wealth and the modern marijuana industrial complex and follows a drug lord as he tries to sell off his highly profitable weed empire to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires.
Matthew McConaughey (White Boy Rick) portrays the drug kingpin, while the cast also includes Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians), Hugh Grant (Paddington 2) and Jeremy Strong (The Big Short). Production on the film is underway now.
Farrell is coming off the back of Steve McQueen’s star-studded heist film Widows and will next be seen on the big screen in Disney’s live-action Dumbo from director Tim Burton.
