The actor behind Colossus has spoken about his more significant role in Deadpool 2.
While Colossus did turn up in Deadpool, providing some great amusement for fans of the larger X-Men universe, the character wasn’t intrinsic to the plot. For the film’s sequel, however, which is set for release this week, Colossus will have a much larger part to play.
Stefan Kapicic, the actor behind Colossus, is looking forward to fans seeing more of the character this time around, and has spoken to ComicBook.com about what fans can expect to see from him:
“A beautiful thing is that the fans really loved Colossus [in Deadpool], and that’s why in the sequel we have upgraded the relationship with Deadpool and so much more to see regarding Colossus.
“We made this relationship between them much more powerful, much more honest. And it’s really one of the most important relationships in the movie when you see the sequel,” Kapičić explained. “Colossus loves Deadpool, he really cares about him. That’s the point. There’s not so many people that care about Deadpool as Colossus does because Colossus believes in his good heart. It sounds kind of romantic, but it is really the Colossus point of view. That’s who he is, old-school superhero. He believes he can change everything.”
It certainly sounds like there is an interesting relationship dynamic between the two characters in themuch-anticipatedd sequel, which could add a whole new facet to Deadpool. Are you looking forward to seeing more of Colossus and his relationship with Wade?
