Villordsutch reviews MUTAFUKAZ…
Every once in a while a comic will arrive through your letterbox/on the comic book store shelf/on your eReader (delete were appropriate) and it will be like nothing you have read before – and I’m not talking a slightly different superhero by their skin colour/gender/sexual preference (again delete were appropriate). MUTAFUKAZ is a totally different comic book to quite frankly anything most people are reading today and that really includes me.
We brought you the news here at Flickering Myth that Titan Comics had secured the publishing rights to bring MUTAFUKAZ to the English speaking market. For those that don’t know what goes on between the covers of the rather marvellous piece of mayhem let me give you a quick overview. Angelino – the hero of the comic – is a bit of a no hoper and at the beginning of story becomes involved in a rather brutal scooter accident; whilst distracted by a woman across the road. It’s after this accident his life becomes slightly askew as he begins to see monsters, undercover agents and aliens all over Dead Meat City. He starts to doubt his sanity as this nightmare continues to spiral out of control and grows even more bizarre.
Created by RUN, MUTAFUKAZ goes everywhere it possibly can and gives you the feeling that you’ve found something truly amazing, which has been kept secret from everyone else. It’s refreshing, exciting and feels completely different to the normal run of comics I generally pick up every week. Don’t however let this upheaval of the comfy slippers that has become your normal comic book life make you consider it may not be for you, as it is! MUTAFUKAZ is an insane treat from beginning to end! If you’re not smiling when you read MUTAFUKAZ then there is something amiss with your sense of humour.
I really can’t fault MUTAFUKAZ at any part, the art suits the mad world of Dead Meat City, the story powers along with so much energy RUN himself must have been downing Red Bull whilst licking batteries. You need to make sure that MUTAFUKAZ is on your “Must buy!” list today.
MUTAFUKAZ is released on the 16th September from Amazon US and Amazon UK.
