Cuddlefish update arrives for Subnautica on Xbox One

October 11, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Subnautica players on the Xbox One can now have a bit of companionship on those lonely days deep under the sea as Unknown Worlds release the Cuddlefish update.  The new Cuddlefish will be your new diving buddy and can be seen in the trailer below…

The Cuddlefish update provides the perfect companion for the aquanauts among you.  In order to get one of these travel buddies all you need to do is find one of their eggs, although this may take some doing as they are incredibly rare and hidden around the world.  Once you manage to find one then it needs to be placed in an Alien Containment Seabase module for the incubation process until it hatches.  He’s then all yours to feed and take on adventures.

As well as this adorable companion the Cuddlefish update also includes a new Head Up Display (HUD) for each of the Seamoth, PRAWN suit and the remote cameras aboard the Cyclops and Scanner Room.

The update also makes improvements on performance, stability and gives a general polish to the game.

Leave a comment and let us know what you think of the Cuddlefish.  Is a companion something you want in your aquatic world?
