Lionsgate is reportedly readying a remake of the cult 1997 Canadian sci-fi film Cube.
Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) is on-board as one of the producers, with director Saman Kesh, whose short Controller has turned some heads in Hollywood, set to make his feature debut with the film, which will be entitled Cubed. Philip Gawthorne, who has cut his teeth on British shows such as Eastenders and Holby City, is set to pen the screenplay.
The original film, directed by Vincenzo Natali, sees seven complete strangers of widely varying personality characteristics are involuntarily placed in an endless kafkaesque maze containing deadly traps.
