Cyanide announces new rogue-like turn-based game Rogue Lords

February 22, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Nacon (formerly BigBen) and developers Cyanide and Leikir Studio have announced they are working on a brand-new rogue-like game called Rogue Lords.  Scheduled to be released this autumn on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC, Rogue Lords tells a gloomy tale of the Devil in 17th century New England.

Along the dimly lit streets of 17th century New England the Devil and other diabolical entities roam among the mortals whom they would consider lower than cattle.  The Devil has suffered a terrible defeat and his power is severely weakened but he has a plan to once more gain power and once again corrupt the world with the help of notorious beings, including Bloody Mary, Dracula, the White Lady and Baron Samedi.

Taking the role of the Devil, players will explore a 3D map and choose how they shall spread Chaos throughout the land.  Players will send their Disciples of Evil into difficult turn-based combat and uses their skills to overcome adversaries, fail and the Devil loses his power once again and it’s game over.  As a very last resort players can use the Devil’s powers and literally cheat via the game interface in order to turn the defeat to success.

“Rogue Lords is a game we came up with several years ago with Jérémie Monedero, the Game Director”, said Camille Lisoir, Artistic Director at Cyanide. “We are delighted to see the project become reality. We have fantastic synergy with the talented team at Leikir Studio and we can’t wait to reveal our diabolical world.”

Rogue Lords will arrive this Autumn on Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
