Utopia has released a poster and trailer for Drift, the Sundance drama from director Anthony Chen.
Based on Alexander Maksik’s novel A Marker to Measure Drift, it stars Cynthia Erivo as Jacqueline, a Liberian refugee who arrives alone and penniless on a Greek island where she develops a friendship with tour guide Callie (Alia Shawcat) while trying to cope with her troubled past. Jacqueline (Two-Time Academy Award nominee Cynthia Erivo), a young refugee, lands alone and penniless on a Greek island, where she tries first to survive and then to cope with her past. While gathering her strength, she begins a friendship with a rootless tour-guide (Alia Shawkat) and together they find the resilience to forge ahead.
Featuring in the cast of Drift are Cynthia Erivo, Alia Shawkat, Ibrahima Ba, Honor Swinton Byrne, Zainab Jah, Suzy Bemba, and Vincent Vermignon.
Drift is set to open in New York on February 9th, with a national U.S. expansion to follow.
