The season finale of Constantine has come and gone, and we’re yet to hear any news about NBC’s plans for the DC-based show. However, according to showrunner Daniel Cerone, the network has not pulled the plug on the show just yet, and fans’ hope for a second season could still become a reality.
“NBC made some early pickups by Constantine is not cancelled,” said Cerone on Twitter in response to a fan question about the show’s fate. “We’ll pitch them our plans for a second season in May. Then they decide. Our show is expensive. The ratings are okay for Friday night but not strong. The studio holds options on Constantine actors and writers til mid-June. We will definitely have an answer by up fronts.”
Cerone then went on to encourage fans hopeful for a second season to purchase the episodes via Amazon and iTunes, or stream the final five on NBC and Hulu. And, if all else fails, “we’ll let you know if the time comes for a letter writing campaign.”
