According to Deadline, Daniel Craig in talks to join the cast of Mustang director Deniz Gamze Erguven’s English-language debut Kings, where he will star opposite Halle Berry.
The film is set against the backdrop of the Los Angeles riots in 1992, and will see Craig as “Ollie, a loner who lives in South Central — one of its only white residents — who befriends Berry’s character, a tough, protective mother who looks after a group of kids. When the riots explode in the city, Craig’s character helps Berry, who is secretly in love with him, try and track down the kids from the worst of the violence.”
Craig has recently signed on to appear in the 20-episode Showtime drama Purity, along with Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky, casting doubt on his future as 007.
