Deadline is reporting that Get Out stars Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield are set to reunite for Warner Bros. Pictures’ Jesus Was My Homeboy, which is being produced by Ryan Coogler (Black Panther).
The film is set to tell the story of civil rights activist and Black Panther Party member Fred Hampton (Kaluuya) and his rise and demise, detailing how the FBI infiltrated the Black Panthers thanks to informant Willliam O’Neal (Stanfield), which led to the assassination of the young political leader aged just 21.
Shaka King (Newlyweeds) is set to direct the film from a script he has written with Will Berson (Sea Oak), while Warner Bros. will produce the movie with Charles D. King’s MACRO (Mudbound).
