Anyone looking forward to a double dose of Daniel Kaluuya in 2022 should brace themselves for the disappointing news that the Academy Award-winning actor won’t be reprising his role as W’Kabi in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
While doing the press rounds for his other eagerly anticipated blockbuster of this year, Jordan Peele’s Nope, Kaluuya confirmed during his interview with Rotten Tomatoes Jacqueline Coley that he wouldn’t be returning for Ryan Coogler’s Marvel sequel due to “schedule conflicts”. Deadline has also backed this up.
While undeniably disappointing, it also makes complete sense given the productions ran parallel to one another, with Wakanda Forever subject to multiple delays due to an injury to Letitia Wright, as well as numerous Covid related hold-ups.
