Oscar-winning filmmaker Danny Boyle has signed on to direct Michael B. Jordan in Warner Bros.’ long-planned Methuselah, while his Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours collaborator Simon Beaufoy will rework the script.
Methuselah has been in development for around a decade now, with Tom Cruise attached to star at one point, and is based upon the biblical figure who lived to be 969 years old. Boyle and Beaufoy are said to be reworking the original concept, which was described as “Highlander-like” and followed a 400-year old man who has acquired vast knowledge and skills during his four centuries on Earth.
Black Panther and Creed star Jordan joined the project back in March of last year, and is set to produce the movie alongside Boyle and David Heyman (Harry Potter).
Jordan will next be seen portraying the character of John Clark in the Tom Clancy adaptation Without Remorse, which is directed by Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of the Soldado). It is currently set for release on October 2nd.
