As reported by THR, Machete star Danny Trejo has joined the cast of American Sicario, a cartel thriller which marks the directorial debut of film producer Raja Collins (Grand Isle, Blackbird) and sccripted by Grand Isle writer Rich Ronat. Here’s the official synopsis:
The story follows Erik Vazquez aka La Munequita, which means “Little Doll”. He’s a Mexican-American born in Dallas, Texas and was an ex high-ranking lieutenant of the Feliz Cartel. Erik led his Cartel into a bloody, vicious and never-ending drug and turf war that resulted in the deaths of thousands. He had a moral code; never kill women or children and always protect your family. He was the first known… American Sicario.
Trejo will star alongside Philippe Haddad, Cali Morales. Maurice Compte, Maya Stojan, Dionysio Basco and Jaylen Moore. Filming on American Sicario is now underway in Nevada.
