Erik Oleson, the showrunner for Daredevil season three, has left Netflix and signed a two-year overall deal with Amazon.
In the wake of Netflix’s cancellation of Daredevil, showrunner for its third season, Erik Oleson, is deciding to move on to pastures news by signing an overall deal with the platforms chief rival, Amazon.
The third season of Daredevil is considered by many to be the show’s best so Erik Oleson’s stock is pretty high right now, making the acquisition by Amazon an interesting one. Speaking about his decision to leave Netflix for Amazon (via The Hollywood Reporter), Oleson said:
“I want to tell the kind of stories that I love: stories that have great characters, thrilling concepts and epic backdrops, but are about something meaningful. Stories which allow an audience to think and feel rewarded for watching.
“Amazon is a perfect home for these stories, and I’m psyched to work alongside the entire Amazon Studios team.”
We don’t know yet what Oleson will be working on with Amazon but fans of Daredevil season three might be interested in seeing what direction he decides to go in.
