Charlie Cox, the former star of Daredevil, says the #SaveDaredevil campaign meant a lot to him and others on the show.
When Netflix/Marvel cancelled Daredevil there were quite a few upset fans. Not only had it only been on for three-seasons but the show seemed to be better than ever. Unfortunately, due to viewing numbers and licensing issues, the show couldn’t continue.
Fans immediately started a #SaveDardevil social media campaign, however, and the efforts of these loyal audience members didn’t go unnoticed, even if it didn’t result in anything. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Cox said:
“The only thing is I’d just like to say thank you to all those guys. I don’t know if it’s going to do anything, but it means a lot to a lot of people, and it certainly means a lot to me.”
Cox also noted that he had a lot of Daredevil fans show up to his Broadway play Betrayal that he starred in with Tom Hiddleston, showing him their support.
Meanwhile, as for the future of the Man Without Fear, Cox went on to state that he believes it’s only a matter of time before the character returns, although he expects to see Marvel recasting with a new actor:
“I think the likelihood is, I think you’ll definitely see Daredevil again,” said Cox. “I just think the best bet for them, in the unlikely nature of being able to get all of us together again, it should be a whole new team, and, you know, start again. You know, why not? And, they do it with Spider-Man all the time. I keep consuming that stuff ’cause I love it.”

Daredevil was certainly a great example of a Marvel TV show done right. Hopefully, the Disney+ shows will be of similar quality, as well as the inevitable return/reboot of Daredevil.
