Aspyr Media have announced that their dark science-fiction mystery Torn will be arriving on PS VR, SteamVR, and The Oculus Store on 28th August. A new trailer titled ‘Enter the Mansion’ has been released that provides a glimpse around the abandoned mansion of eccentric scientist Dr. Lawrence Talbot.
As video blogger Katherine Patterson, players head into a deep forest where they come across the abandoned mansion of Dr. Lawrence Talbot, a scientist who went missing more than 64 years before. Among all the strange machines and disturbing experiments it turns out that Talbot is still there but without his body.
The game will open as a narrative puzzler as players help Talbot to reactivate the various mechanisms around the mansion but once done it changes to a darker, character driven story that explores the secrets of this mad scientist and the new dimension he calls “The Parallel”.
In 1953, on the brink of a major scientific breakthrough, the renowned physicist Dr. Lawrence Talbot vanished. For 64 years, his mansion remained hidden, his laboratory and work all but forgotten… Until now.
Aspyr Media is proud to introduce Torn, a dark-science fiction mystery inspired by The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror, coming to PSVR, Oculus, and Vive this spring. Click here to view the debut gameplay trailer.
The first game developed in-house at Aspyr Studio, Torn was written by Neill Glancy (Stranglehold) and Susan O’Connor (Tomb Raider, BioShock), with an original orchestral score composed by Garry Schyman (BioShock, Middle Earth: Shadow of War).
If you are a fan of classic sci-fi such as The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror then be sure to look out for Torn next week.
