Deadline is reporting that Dave Bautista has signed on to star in Stuber, an action-comedy which is set to be directed by Michael Dowse (Goon) from a script by Tripper Clancy, who developed the concept with Spider-Man: Homecoming scribes Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley.
The project will see the former WWE star as a very determined detective who commandeers an unsuspecting Uber driver named Stu into a harrowing evening of hijinks and mayhem.
Bautista, who was last seen in Blade Runner 2049, has a number of project son the horizon. He will next be seen reprising the role of Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, and is currently shooting its as-yet-untitled sequel, while other movies incoming include the sci-fi Hotel Artemis, action sequels Escape Plan 2: Hades, Escape Plan 3: Devil’s Station, animated action-comedy Groove Tails, Ip Man spinoff Ip Man Side Story: Cheung Tin Chi, and his own untitled action comedy franchise.
