With Avengers: Infinity War releasing soon, Drax actor Dave Bautista is already lining up his next project after the massive Marvel crossover.
Bautista will star in an untitled action comedy to be written by Job and Erich Hoeber (Red, The Happytime Murders) for STXfilms. The film will see Bautista as a hardened CIA operative who finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, having been sent undercover to surveil her family.
Bautista will also serve as a producer on the film with Jonathan Meisner. STXfilms’ SVP of production Drew Simon and director of development Kate Vorhoff will be overseeing the film’s production.
“Jon and Erich have a unique writing style that is perfectly matched with Dave’s blend of action and comedy expertise,” said Adam Fogelson, Chairman of STXfilms. “We had a great experience working with them on the script for The Happytime Murders, and look forward to collaborating once again on this project.”
The Hoeber brothers have also written the script for The Meg, the action thriller starring Jason Statham as he battles a giant prehistoric shark.
