Dave Bautista to star in martial arts epic Warrior’s Gate

May 15, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Former WWE and MMA star Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) has signed on to appear in the martial arts epic Warrior’s Gate, which is currently shooting in China.

Directed by Matthias Hoene (Cockneys vs Zombies) and written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen (Taken), Warrior’s Gate follows a teenager who is magically transported to China and learns to convert his videogame skills into those of a Kung Fu warrior.

Following his breakthrough role as Drax the Destroyer in last year’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Bautista has several upcoming films on his slate, including Spectre, Bus 657, Kickboxer: Vengeance and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. He’s also rumoured to be playing The Kurgan in the long-rumoured Highlander remake.
