David Harbour talks Stranger Things season 2 and Sean Astin’s character

January 24, 2017 by Robert Kojder

At the Fan2Sea Comic Con cast panel (via HollywoodLife), Stranger Things star David Harbour (Jim Hopper) has dropped some interesting information regarding the direction and plot of the second season of Netflix’s hugely popular television show.

“It’s a year later in the story, so there are several things that happened last year, like Will has come back,” said Harbour. “There are certain people in the town that know what happened, and then certain people that don’t know what happened. So there’s a lot of fall out with who knows what.”

Harbour also spilled the beans on the character Sean Astin will be playing, saying “We have Sean Astin… he’s Winona’s new boyfriend — much to the chagrin to the Chief of Police.”

The second season of Stranger Things is in production now and sees the return of cast members Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobbie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery, along with new additions Sean Astin (The Goonies), Paul Reiser (Aliens), Linnea Berthelsen (The Desert), Sadie Sink (Odyssey), Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers) and Brett Gelman (Brett Gelman’s Dinner in America).
