Skeleton Crew, a new Star Wars series, is shaping to be an explosion of Hollywood’s most exciting filmmakers. Reports now say David Lowery will helm an episode of the series.
One Take News broke the story of Lowery’s involvement, reporting production has recently wrapped and the complete list of directors will be known soon. Lowrey is already working for Disney, as he has another project, Peter Pan & Wendy, due in under a month.
The Green Knight filmmaker joins Oscar-winning directors The Daniels, as it was previously reported the Everything Everywhere All At Once filmmakers are also set to join the intergalactic director’s chair.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is reportedly part of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s established Mandalorian-based universe. The series comes from Favreau and Jon Watts, the filmmaker behind Marvel Studios’ recent Spider-Man trilogy. The series will star Jude Law and was teased at Star Wars Celebration in 2022.
Little is known about the project, though a small teaser reads, “Skeleton Crew tells the story of four kids who find themselves lost in the vastness of the galaxy trying to find their way home.”
The series is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year.
