Twin Peaks fans, breathe easy once again…
Last month, co-creator David Lynch revealed that he’d left Showtime’s upcoming revival of the cult TV series, but it seems he has now worked out his issues with the network as Showtime president David Nevins has announced that Lynch is back on board the project, which will now run for more than the originally planned nine episodes.
“This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever,” said Nevins. “Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!”
The new Twin Peaks is slated to air in 2016, with Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn and Dana Ashbrook all confirmed as reprising their roles from the original series.
