DC Extended Universe is “100%” connected says head of DC Films Geoff Johns

October 2, 2017 by Jordan Jones

There has been a lot of talk lately concerning how much of the upcoming DC Extended Universe films plan on being connected. In fact, there has even been discussion over how appropriate it is to refer to DC Films as the “DC Extended Universe” at all, with the studio recently pointing out that this title was a moniker given by news outlets. Without the “Extended Universe” or “Cinematic Universe” added to the mix, the idea of upcoming films without continuity makes a little more sense.

However, if you were hoping that this would put the debate to rest, prepare to be disappointed. Head of DC Films Geoff Johns recently took to Twitter to answer a fan’s question, undoubtedly adding more fuel to the conversation:

It 100% is. pic.twitter.com/CIxSh59x1r

With DC Films saying strange things like future DC movie connections will live in “the heart of the filmmaker”, Geoff Johns insisting that everything is still 100% connected, all the while Warner Bros. maintaining that The Joker origin film is a standalone movie… things are more than a little confusing at present. Presumably, Johns is just referring to the DCEU (or whatever it is being called these days) in that 100%, as opposed to this new standalone DC division.
