DC Studios is finally bringing the Green Lanterns to television, and now we learn the minds behind the project.
DC’s Lanterns is bringing Damon Lindelof back to television alongside Chris Mundy and DC comic author Tom King. Lindelof is best known for the award-winning smash hits Lost and Watchmen. As for Mundy, he was the former showrunner of Ozark, which wrapped up its time at Netflix with a total of 45 Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
It’s been a long rumor, but DC Studios co-chief James Gunn made the news official with a post on Threads. The filmmaker adds that the trio has written a “wonderful pilot script and bible.”
Little is known about the project, but it’s said to follow Hal Jordan and John Stewart as they investigate a mystery. Lanterns is considered a “huge HBO-quality event.” Check out the post below…

One of the more exciting notes comes from the writer’s confirmation, as Gunn adds that the series is now “putting together a crack team of writers.”
As the project began active development, we learned from staff writers’ profile listings on the Writers Guild of America (WGA) website. The names include Justin Britt-Gibson (Into The Badlands), Breannah Gibson (Young Love), and Vanessa Baden Kelly (Animal Kingdom).
There’s no timetable for the production, so stay tuned to see who will play the titular Lanterns.
