DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 Episode 14 Review – ‘Amazing Grace’

March 14, 2018 by Jessie Robertson

Jessie Robertson reviews the fourteenth episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 3…

Ok, I like Amaya and Nate; am I alone? There’s been a looming question as these two seem to come together and split apart; how does their relationship affect her future? It feels a bit too obvious so I’m guessing they don’t go that way; Nate is Mari’s grandfather! Right? or no? All these damn totems….

Tonight’s episode featured the Death totem and it being controlled by Elvis’ guitar. Yeah, things got really, really weird. I’m just going to say I’m not an Elvis fan and I wasn’t a fan of this episode. So, immediately I don’t care about his cursed guitar and even when Legends is ridiculous, this was pushing it. But to keep pushing the story on Nate and Amaya and what their relationship is and what it becomes is where it got me; and their song together. Let’s put out of our minds that there’s no way these two can go to church together in the 50’s. and just focus that there is something meaningful, and Amaya feels it and admits it tonight in her confession of love.

Wally is fitting right in and if it gives Zari something to do, so be it. Wally , even for all his zen, believes super speed is the answer to fixing every problem the Legends have; Zari says something very poignant to him though; to the degree of you need a scalpel when working with time, not a hammer. Plus, she’s sore for losing all her top Pac Man scores to Wally’s quick hands. Also, Mick had a pet rat? Huh? And it dies and there’s a funeral sequence and Elvis’ song raises the dead. What in the hell is happening on this show? I understand the Death Totem is a big deal, or probably will be. But, to introduce it this way, was just mind boggling. We had a few of the great quips and humor Legends is known for but this storyline was just the pits and I couldn’t enjoy it at all.

Rating: 5.5/10
