A few days ago a rumour surfaced online claiming that Deadpool 2 had been testing “really poorly” and that Fox had been taken aback by audience reactions to the sequel to the 2016 box office smash.
Almost immediately, conflicting reports started doing the rounds claiming that Deadpool 2 had actually been scoring close to full marks, and now that has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, which states that the feedback scores are actually higher than that of the original Deadpool.
According to the site, Fox has held three test screenings, with the first two coming in at 91 (the highest mark Deadpool received) and 97. A final test screening featured two different cuts, one of which scored 94 and the other 98. As you’d expect, the cut that scored 98 is the one that’s heading to theaters this May.
The David Leitch-directed sequel took in six days of reshoots last month, reportedly to add more of Cable and Domino, and THR is also reporting that two hours of filming took place in Los Angeles for a “secret cameo”.
