Almost a year to do the day that it was first reported that HBO was moving ahead with a Deadwood revival, we now have official from HBO president Casey Bloys that the movie will begin production in October.
The Deadwood movie has been written by creator David Milch, and will be directed by Game of Thrones’ Daniel Minahan, who previously helmed four episodes of the acclaimed Western drama.
“It has been a logistical nightmare getting it together,” said Bloys with regards to casting, before going on to state that everything is now in place and “let’s get the cameras rolling”.
While Bloys wouldn’t offer a specific premiere date, he did go on to state that he expects it could debut in Spring 2019, although he didn’t want to make that official just yet.
Hopefully we’ll get some official news on the returning cast members for the Deadwood revival soon.
