Dean Cain, who played the Man of Steel for four seasons of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has hung up the cape and tights and is instead stepping into patriarchal roles. On top of a guest role in CBS’s Supergirl as Kara Zor-El’s Earth-born foster parent, he’ll also be voicing Jonathan Kent for DC Super Hero Girls.
Cain announced the news himself while speaking with Comics Continuum:
“I’m actually currently voicing the voice of Jonathan Kent, now I’m the dad. It’s called DC Girls, it’s an animated special. I don’t know if it’s going to series yet or not.”
Announced in April, DC Super Hero Girls is a joint venture from Warner Bros., DC and Mattel, to launch a string of superhero content geared specifically at girls from the age of 6-12, across digital content, television specials, direct-to-video features, publication, toys, apparel and more.
DC Super Hero Girls will launch in 2016.
