This murder won’t need a long investigation as Hulu has cancelled its mystery series Death and Other Details after one season. The series starred Mandy Patinkin and Violet Beane as they attempted to solve a murder aboard a cruise ship.
Death and Other Details was created and written by Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams and saw Patinkin as detective Rufus Cotesworth and his protege Imogene, played by Beane, investigate a locked room murder aboard a luxury Mediterranean cruise with Imogene as the primary suspect.
The primary case was solved by the first (and now only) season’s conclusion, but left off with a cliffhanger teasing a new murder mystery in another vacation setting.
The series also starred Lauren Patten (Blue Bloods), Rahul Kohli (The Fall of the House of Usher), Angela Zhou (Promising Young Woman), Hugo Diego Garcia (Sentinelles), Pardis Saremi (Hell of a Summer) and Linda Emond (Only Murders in the Building).
Set amidst the glamor of the global elite, Death and Other Details centers on the brilliant and restless Imogene, who finds herself in the wrong place/wrong time (okay, it was kinda her fault) and becomes the prime suspect in a locked room murder mystery. The setting? A lavishly restored Mediterranean ocean liner. Suspects? Every pampered guest and every exhausted crew member. The problem? To prove her innocence, she must partner with a man she despises – Rufus Cotesworth, the world’s greatest detective.
