Katrina: American Crime Story, the second instalment of the anthology series, has found its President. Actor Dennis Quaid has been cast as former President George W. Bush in the second season of Ryan Murphy and FX’s breakout show.
The season will follow the events leading up to and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the devastation it left behind in Louisiana, particularly New Orleans. President Bush and many other government officials were heavily criticized for their handling of the situation. Quiad will be joining Matthew Broderick and Annette Bening for Katrina. Broderick will portray FEMA director Michael Brown and Bening Louisiana governor Kathleen Blanco.
The first season of American Crime Story was centered around the infamous O.J. Simpson trial in the murder of his ex-wife. The People v. O.J. Simpson was a critical hit and went on to gain 22 nominations at the Emmy Awards, winning nine of them. A third season is already planned with Edgar Ramirez, Darren Criss, Penelope Cruz and Ricky Martin to star in Versace: American Crime Story.
