During yesterday’s live-action panel at the D23 Expo, Disney officially announced the cast for The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, a new take on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic Christmas tale.
The film is being directed by Lasse Hallstrom and will star Mackenzie Foy as a young girl who discovers the titular four realms – The Land of Flowers, Land of Sweets, Land of Snowflakes, and Land of Spice.
In addition to Foy, the cast includes Keira Knightley as The Sugar Plum Fairy, Helen Mirren as Mother Ginger, Morgan Freeman as Drosselmeyer, Eugenio Derbez as the Flower Realm King and Charles ‘Lil Buck’ Riley as the The Mouse King. Richard E. Grant and ballet stars Misty Copeland and Sergei Polunin also feature in the cast.
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is set for release on November 2nd 2018.
