It looks like Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem are set to go down as one season wonders, as Variety is reporting that Disney+ has cancelled its musical comedy series The Muppets Mayhem.
Created by Adam F. Goldberg (The Goldbergs) alongside longtime Muppets performer Bill Barretta and Jeff Yorkes, the series provided a “behind-the-scenes” look at Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem, the Muppet house band, as they try to record their long-awaited debut studio album after almost half a century.
The series starred Lilly Singh as Nora, a junior record executive, alongside Muppet performers Matt Vogel as Floyd, Bill Barretta as Dr. Teeth, Peter Linz as Lips, Dave Goelz as Zoot, David Rudman as Janice, and Eric Jacobson as Animal.
The Muppets Mayhem joins a growing list of Disney+ cancellations in 2023 alongside the likes of Willow, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, National Treasure: Edge of History, and The Spiderwick Chronicles, the latter of which never even made it to the streamer, although it has since been shopped to a new home on Roku.
