Disney executive says the Fox deal is “almost done”

December 18, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Kevin Mayer, an executive at Disney, has revealed that the Fox deal is nearly complete.

It feels like we’ve been talking about the Disney/Fox deal forever and while we’ve known for some time that the deal is virtually complete, any further news will be welcomed by film fans.

Luckily, now we have confirmation that closure of the deal is just around the corner. Kevin Mayer, Disney’s chairman of direct-to-consumer and international offers, said the following in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter: “The deal closing keeps me up at night, but it is almost done and closed. I’m eager to execute. I’m eager to get these services out in the public’s hands. That is an excitement more than it is a nervousness.”

Mayer isn’t the only one eager to see the deal close, with fans around the world excited to finally see characters like the X-Men join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hopefully, it’s not too much longer to wait for the deal to go through.
