Back in 2013 it was announced that director Bob Peterson (Up) had been removed from Disney-Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, and now following the release of the first trailer, it seems that the original voice cast for the prehistoric animated adventure has also been replaced.
The film was originally set to feature the likes of Lucas Neff, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Greer, John Lithgow and Frances McDormand. However Pixar has now unveiled an almost entirely new cast, which includes Raymond Ochoa (The Night Shift) as the main character Arlo, Jeffrey Wright (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) as Arlo’s father Poppa, Marcus Scribner (Black-ish) as Arlo’s brother Buck, Steve Zahn (Ridiculous Six) as pterodactyl Thunderclap, and A.J. Buckley (Justified), Anna Paquin (True Blood) and Sam Elliott (Justified) as T-Rex Nash, Ramsey and Butch. Frances McDormand has survived the cull, and remains the voice of Momma, Arlo’s mother.
The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
The Good Dinosaur opens in the US on November 25th and in the UK on December 4th.
