Disney’s dark days could be over, with their latest animated film becoming a box office surprise. Inside Out 2 has become the first film of 2024 to hit a billion dollars.
With $1,014.8 billion in just 19 days, the latest Disney/Pixar outing became the fastest animated movie to reach the milestone. It surpassed fellow Disney film Frozen 2, which reached a billion in 25 days.
We also see milestones broken left and right with Inside Out 2. It’s an international hit, sitting currently at $545.5 million from international markets. The film passed Shrek Forever After, Madagascar 3, and Finding Dory to become the No. 18 animated release of all time internationally.
Domestically, it’s jumped up the all-time animated chart in North America, passing the likes of iconic films like Toy Story 3, The Lion King, and Shrek 2 to find a spot in the top five.

The 2024 chart shows it at the number-one spot for the year so far. It sits above Dune: Part Two and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, rounding out the top three.
Inside Out 2 cost $200 million to produce, and is currently in cinemas now.
