Coming hot on the heels of the news that Rosario Dawson (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) has joined the cast of Marvel’s Daredevil, British director Farren Blackburn has announced on Twitter (via BleedingCool) that he’s set to direct an episode of the Netflix miniseries. Blackburn’s previous work includes the feature film Hammer of the Gods, as well as episodes of Doctor Who, Luther, Silent Witness, The Fades and The Musketeers.
Daredevil is set to start production next month, with Charlie Cox (Stardust) playing the blind lawyer / superhero Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket) as the Kingpin. Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus) serves as showrunner and Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) will direct the first episode, which he’s also written as well as executive producing the show alongside Jeph Loeb (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). The series will land on Netflix next year.
