Dolph Lundgren confirms that Aquaman reshoots are underway

March 26, 2018 by Gary Collinson

As we wait patiently for our first glimpse of Aquaman – with director James Wan revealing this weekend that the trailer is not ready due to the amount of VFX work required – actor Dolph Lundgren has revealed that additional photography is now underway on the DC Extended Universe release.

Lundgren, who is set to portray the character of King Nereus, took to Instagram to share the news in a story captured by a user on Reddit (via ComicBook):

Now, it’s a little unclear whether this is simply additional photography which was always part of the production schedule, or reshoots based upon those recent rumours that the Aquaman movie “has some issues to be resolved”. Hopefully, if it is the latter, it’s not another case of enforced changes on Warner Bros.’ behalf…

Either way, Aquaman isn’t set to arrive until December, so if there are any “issues” to resolve, Wan and company certainly have plenty of time to get things right.

Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world.

Aquaman is directed by James Wan (The Conjuring) and stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, reprising his role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Ludi Lin as Murk, Michael Beach as Jesse Kane, Otis Dhanji as a young Arthur Curry and Graham McTavish in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on December 21st 2018.
