The ever-busy Domhnall Gleeson has signed on to star in a lead role in Run, a new comedy pilot from Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge and script editor Vicky Jones, which is set up at HBO.
Variety reports that the potential series is described as “a romantic-comedic-thriller that follows Ruby, a woman living a humdrum existence, who one day gets a text, inviting her to fulfill a youthful pact promising true love and self-reinvention, by stepping out of her life to take a journey with her oldest flame.”
Gleeson will portray the wealthy and successful life guru Billy Johnson, who has the gift of the gab and deftly combines a boatload of charisma with a boundless need for approval.
Gleeson was most recently seen in the supernatural thriller The Little Stranger, and is currently reprising his role as General Hux in Star Wars: Episode IX ahead of its release next December. He also recently completed filming on the Vertigo comic book adaptation The Kitchen, which is set for release in September 2019.
