Don Cheadle joins LeBron James in Space Jam 2

July 13, 2019 by Gary Collinson

With filming on the long-gestating Space Jam 2 set to get underway this summer, Warner Bros. has enlisted Avengers: Endgame star Don Cheadle for an as-yet-unrevealed role in the LeBron James-led follow-up to the blockbuster 1996 basketball comedy.

Plot details for Space Jam 2 are being kept under wraps, but it seems pretty safe to assume that the film will see LeBron taking to the court alongside iconic Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. Also said to be featuring in the cast are NBA stars Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul and Klay Thompson and WNBA stars Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike, and Chiney Ogwumike.

Terence Nance (Random Acts of Flyness) is directing Space Jam 2, while LeBron James and Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) are executive producing.

Space Jam 2 is set for release on July 16th 2021.
