If you want more from Matt Reeves’ The Batman, prepare to wait a bit longer.
Variety reports that Matt Reeves’ follow-up to his hit 2022 film has been officially greenlit, with Reeves and Mattson Tomlin penning the script. The only sad news is that The Batman 2 remains a long way off.
According to the trade, the film is not expected to hit cinemas until 2025 “at the earliest.” Further details on the project are being kept under wraps, with only Robert Pattinson so far confirmed as returning to reprise his role as the Dark Knight.

The next project from The Batman universe will be the Colin Farrell-led The Penguin series, set to film early next year. We also learned recently that the Arkham Asylum series had gained a new showrunner, while a Gotham P.D. spinoff also remains in development.
