Before he heads into space with Tom Cruise, director Doug Liman is set to direct Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway in Lockdown, a new feature from writer Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders).
Described as “a heist movie/romantic comedy set against the backdrop of the pandemic lockdown,” the film is set to begin shooting this month on a modest $10 million budget.
According to Deadline, several key roles are yet to be cast, and Knight’s Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy was wanted for a part, although that now seems unlikely.

Lockdown reunites Hathaway with Knight, who wrote and directed last year’s Serenity, which saw the actress starring alongside the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Diane Lane, Jason Clarke and Djimon Hounsou.
