Doug Liman is in talks to direct an adaptation of Patrick Ness’ post-apocalyptic young adult trilogy Chaos Walking, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.
The project, which has been scripted by Charlie Kaufman (Adaptation), previously had Robert Zemeckis (The Walk) attached to direct, and “takes place in a world where there are no women and all living creatures can hear one another’s thoughts in a stream of images, words and sounds called Noise.”
This is the second project that Liman has added to his slate following 20th Century Fox’s decision to delay Gambit, with the director also signing on to helm The Wall for Amazon Studios. However, according to IGN, the filmmaker remains attached to Fox’s Channing Tatum-headlined X-Men spinoff… assuming it ever drags itself out of development hell.
