DreamWorks Pictures has announced that principal photography on Oscar-winner Sam Mendes’ (American Beauty, Skyfall) next film 1917 is set to get underway on April 1st (seriously).
The film sees George MacKay (Captain Fantastic) and Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones) taking on the roles of two young British soldiers during a single day at the height of World War I.
Joining MacKay and Chapman in the cast of the film are Mark Strong (Shazam!), Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Richard Madden (Bodyguard), Daniel Mays (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Adrian Scarborough (Christopher Robin), Jamie Parker (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Nabhaan Rizwan (Informer), Colin Firth (The King’s Speech) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Avengers: Infinity War).
1917 marks a reunion for Mendes with DreamWorks, where he’s previously made American Beauty, Road to Perdition and Revolutionary Road.
