Last year’s Warcraft wasn’t the hit many were hoping for and despite setting itself up for one, a sequel was in doubt after a disastrous domestic box office run. There were rumours that a sequel could still happen and there was even a story it could be a Chinese-centric release following fantastic box office numbers there, which helped push Warcraft pass $400 million worldwide – making it the biggest video game movie of all-time.
Jones has been very vocal about the difficulties he had working on the movie – even saying 40 minutes had been cut and it died by death of 1,000 cuts – but was willing to work on a sequel. He recently announced a special screening of the movie at the Prince Charles Cinema in London with a Q&A afterwards, and a fan asked him on Twitter if any conversations about Warcraft 2 had taken place. To which the director simply wrote, “nope”.
Nope.

Reviews for Warcraft were mixed [although we liked it a lot], but there have been a lot of vocal fans would like to see a follow-up.
