Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page has landed a role in the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons film, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Page joins the previously cast Chris Pine (Wonder Woman 1984), Michelle Rodriguez (F9: The Fast Saga) and Justice Smith (Pokemon: Detective Pikachu) in the film. The new adaptation of the popular role-playing game comes from Paramount Pictures and Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures. Michael Gilio (Kwik Stop) has written the script.
Dungeons & Dragons has remained a popular fantasy role-playing game for over 40 years. The fantasy role-playing game was previously adapted for the big screen by New Line Cinema in 2000, and while the film proved to be a critical and commercial disaster, it did spawn a made for TV sequel in 2005 and a straight-to-video third instalment in 2011. Warner Bros. attempted to get a big-budget reboot off the ground in 2015, with the project subsequently moving to Paramount in late 2017.
Dungeons & Dragons is currently slated for release on May 27th, 2022.
