It was just days ago that David F. Sandberg announced Heroes Reborn star Zachary Levi would star as the titular superhero in Shazam!, and now we have more headway on the Black Adam film starring Dwayne Johnson.
According to Tracking Board, Adam Sztykiel, the creator of NBC’s comedy Undateable, has been tapped to write the screenplay for the anti-hero’s solo movie.
Black Adam will act as a companion to Shazam!, focusing on Shazam’s arch-nemesis Black Adam. The character is very much considered an anti-hero, utilizing the same powers as Shazam but believing in a tyrannical government. Adam used his powers to free himself and others from slavery, but later rules his country Kahndaq with a tight grip and fear of the populist.

Johnson is producing Black Adam with Hiram Garcia and Beau Flynn for New Line and DC Entertainment. There is no date for Black Adam yet, but Shazam! will be released on April 5th, 2019.
