Dylan O’Brien joins Rachel McAdams in Sam Raimi-helmed Send Help

January 22, 2025 by EJ Moreno

After circling the project, Rachel McAdams is officially set for Sam Raimi’s latest film Send Help, and now she also has her co-star in actor Dylan O’Brien.

Deadline reports O’Brien is now attached to the horror thriller from 20th Century Studios. The actor is fresh off playing young Dan Aykroyd in the acclaimed film Saturday Night and the recent release Caddo Lake. He’s best known for starring in the MTV series Teen Wolf and the actor film franchise Maze Runner.

Send Help is based on an original script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Baywatch). Zainab Azizi will also produce under the Raimi Productions banner.

The film is described as a survival horror thriller about two colleagues who become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive. It’s described as somewhere between “Rob Reiner’s Stephen King adaptation of Misery and Robert Zemeckis’ Castaway.”

Send Help will have a theatrical release but has not set a date as yet.
