Deadline is reporting that Ed Helms (Vacation) and Amanda Seyfried (Ted 2) have signed on to appear in The Clapper, which is being directed by Dito Montiel (Empire State) from his own book of the same name.
The site reports that the film revolves around ” professional clapper for infomercials who gets plucked by a late night talk show host to be on his TV show. The notoriety that his 15 minutes of fame brings ends up costing him his job as well as a budding relationship with a girl who works at a gas station. The project is a testament to how easily fame is achieved in today’s reality-program driven society and how it can complicate ordinary people’s lives.”
Montiel’s latest film, the post-apocalyptic thriller Man Down starring Kate Mara, Jai Courtney, Shia LaBeouf and Gary Oldman, premiered at the Venice Film Festival back in September, but is currently without a release date.
